Group Fitness Class Options

We offer a variety of group fitness classes throughout every semester.  The Cougar Fit classes are our only dedicated classes offered to faculty and staff only at no cost.  These classes are free to all of our faculty and staff.  Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15- 6:15 p.m. inside the George St. Fitenss Center for the summer 2019 semester .  In addition to these classes, faculty and staff can reserve spots in our other group fitness classes for free.  Check out our Group Fitness Calendar to see a listing of our weekly class offerings.

Cougar Fit is a circuit training style class using a high intensity interval training method. Instructors will choose a series of different exercises that target muscle groups of the upper and lower body along with the core area (abdominal and lower back).  Each exercise will be performed in an interval fashion with a work period followed by a rest period.  This method allows people of different fitness levels to participate and adjust the intensity to meet their ability.  The primary focus of this class is to provide a fitness challenge while emphasizing injury prevention through correct form and technique.
