Bridge Run Training Program

One of America's largest 10 km (that's 6.2 miles) road racing events takes place every year in the Charleston area.  This year's event is being held on Saturday, April 6, 2019.  Are you interested in running this race but have never completed a road race before?  You can look no further because Campus Recreation Services offers a 10 km bridge run training program designed to help prepare you for this event.  

Program kick-off group meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 23 and the 10-week training program begins Monday, January 28, 2018.

Our program has three levels designed for beginners, intermediates, and advanced level runners. More details to follow.  

There are 3 planned voluntary group runs and we provide you with the training program.  Along with the training program, you will receive:

  • Advice on how to prepare for the event
  • Proper training and racing nutrition
  • Running tips to avoid injuries
  • Maintaining motivation
  • And free fitness assessments

The program is designed for you to participate as much or as little as you would like.  Group runs are not mandatory but are encouraged.  Best of all, the training program is free for all College related members.  *All you have to do is follow this link to sign up for the Cooper River Bridge Run.*  It is best to sign up early.  The length of the program can be variable but is approximately 10 weeks long.

*Please note that your registration fee is not part of this program.
