Campus Recreation Services at the College of Charleston!

A note from our Director:

We're glad you found us.  Campus Recreation Services at the College of Charleston has a long and rich history.  Our team of professional staff and student-employees are grateful to be here to serve along side you during your experience at the College of Charleston.  Many of our team members have their own personal stories about why they choose to work with our department, including myself.

We hope during your time at the College of Charleston you get the opportunity to join us for a workout, play a pickup game, or even to join one of our many sport club opportunities.  We offer multiple programming opportunities as well for you to get involved on campus.  This extends beyond our students to include our faculty and staff.

We have multiple facilities and extensive hours of operation across campus.  We are continually seeking to evolve as our communities evolves around us. Charleston is a magical place, and we hope that you choose to make Campus Recreation Services at the College of Charleston your home as many have before you.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me personally at lbuchana@cofc.edu or 843-953-8257.

ATTENTION

The Silcox Gymnasium will be going under a renovation project this Spring 2023. This will necessitate closure of the 2nd floor recreation facility during the semester as the project advances. Courts are tentatively scheduled to reopen fully by the start of the Fall 2023 semester.

When completed, a new roof along with other necessary fixes will continue to improve the recreational experience for our active students, faculty, and staff. The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2023.

During this time, please check out our open recreation calendar on the Campus Recreation Services website for an updated open play schedule for the Johnson Gymnasium.
